T 52
Purchased on line at www.atlanticcigar.com I rate this cigar at 92. I rated the #9 at 95. I won't reach a final verdict until I smoke another T52 after 1 or 2 months rest!!!! The T52 is special because the stock cut wrapper leaf was discovered nearly by complete accident. Now it’s one of the sweetest spicy top shelf sticks in the world. Length In Inches 6 Ring Gauge 52 Shape Toro Wrapper Stalk Cut Habano Binder Brazilian Mata Fina Filler Honduras, Nicaragua Country of Origin Nicaragua Strength Medium-Full FIRST THIRD The first few puffs are fresh ground pepper and dark chocolate. Notes of subtle spice that is trumped by notes of chocolate and cedar. Through the nose the pepper is dominant but it doesn’t detract from the overall sweetness of the cigar and its aroma. Retrohales pick up raisin and dark chocolate. As the first third comes to a close the cigar begins to lose the sweetness as a charred wood note becomes the focal point. Cinnamon and sweet cream on the finish. Strength of flavor is medium plus. Smoke is full minus body with creamy texture. Smoke billows. Burn is slightly wavy but selfcorrected . Ash is thick and chunky. Full minus strength smoke. Needed 1 relight because of tunneling. Good start! SECOND THIRD As the cigar hits the second third, the flavor and strength rise and settle at full. The balance of flavors seems to be between dry wood flavor and a creamier dark chocolate note. Around the half way point the sweetness comes back and cocoa becomes the primary note with a touch of molasses and cinnamon with wood notes on the finish. Sweetness and spice with a touch of floral on the retrohale. Flavor and body are medium-full. Flavor not as complex as hoped. Smoke texture remained thick, rich and creamy. Strength is full. Construction issue with tunneling and another relight. Issue with tunneling could be that got delivered today but RH was 60% at light! Second third overall better! FINAL THIRD In the final third, the cigar regains its balance and puts forth a full flavored profile full of molasses, ground pepper, dark chocolate, and cedar. Later the cigar starts to lose the sweetness with heavy notes of wood, especially on the retrohale. The finish is earthy with white pepper on the retrohale. Overall medium-full flavor profile. Wish it had more complexity. Smoke is medium-full body with creamy thick texture. Strength is full. Great cigar but I like the #9 better. I will rest some and rate again after a month or 2. Will see if that resolves the tunneling issues.
