I am rather keen on the US grown Connecticut Shade wrapper. In this category, I find that the New World Connecticut line by AJ Fernandez excels. I am partial to its Corona Gorda. After resting for a month in my humidor, this diminutive cigar (5 1/2 by 46) delivers the proverbial billows of creamy smoke accentuated by vague notes of caramel, nuts and dried figs. It is a most rewarding 90-minute long smoke, which pairs handsomely with morning coffee and, later, with an evening scotch (rigorously in that order). Highly recommended for those who incline a delicate (not weak) cigar, that strikes a harmonious balance between flavor and strength (let alone with the price!) James

This well made cigar starts off with spicy Nicaraguan and then the Mexican San Andres kicks in about half way. USA Connecticut Shade wrapper delivers warm notes of coffee, cream and cedar throughout. Medium body strength is nice to find in a Connecticut. Excellent smoke.

This is my go to morning smoke in the corona gorda vitola. It’s creamy with a little bit of salt on the palate. Watch out for the retrohale because that classic AJ spice will get you.
