The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Diamante cigar started as an experimental blend during the development of the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua line and has now become its own brand. The new cigar line is a subtler expression of the original Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua series. Where the original is full-bodied, this one is intended to be more medium in strength. Made by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Diamante consists solely of Nicaraguan tobaccos, featuring a lower-priming wrapper from a hybrid Cuban-seed plant developed by Fernandez and grown in Jalapa. The binder is a Cuban-seed Criollo from the volcanic island soils of Ometepe and the filler tobaccos—three different varietals—are all from Estelí.
