The shape lends itself to an even burn IF you know how to light a perfecto correctly. The draw does vary stick to stick, but generally is smooth one you get into the body of the cigar itself. The blend is unusual, and for those unfamiliar with Costa Rican cigars, you’ll either love it or not. I do. It’s a staple in my humidor. One of my 4-5 favorite smokes.

Very disappointed at this El Septimo. I've smoked the Gilgamesh line and it is a much better choice— in my opinion. Construction was dissapointong requiring three different corrections. Draw was very good however. But—taste was the biggest rrasson for my score. The stick was entirely one-dimensional and with a distinctive hay bitterness that spoiled the entire smoke

This cigar has a slightly hesitant draw, but rolling between your hands prior to lighting loosens it up to where the draw is fine. Flavors are complex with hints of sweetness underlying the chocolate and espresso overtones. Good hour-long even burn with a wrapper than never unravels. Glad to be introduced to it and it is now my go-to.
