At the beginning of the century, El Septimo launched a life-long project: to move away from tradition that limits the quality of the world’s most important brands, and instead offer consumers something new: the best cigars in the world, developed by cigar connoisseurs and master blenders.

An attractive perfecto with an oily cover leaf. Strong and spicy first puffs take on touches of minerals and leather but the flavors are overpowered by a persistent charry note of burnt coffee that lingers on the finish. The burn is mostly even and there is a bit of resistance on the draw.

My new favorite

This cigar has a slightly hesitant draw, but rolling between your hands prior to lighting loosens it up to where the draw is fine. Flavors are complex with hints of sweetness underlying the chocolate and espresso overtones. Good hour-long even burn with a wrapper than never unravels. Glad to be introduced to it and it is now my go-to.
