Tatuaje Black Label Petit Lancero
Long before founding Tatuaje more than two decades ago, Pete Johnson cut his teeth behind cigar shop counters—from Gus’ Smoke Shop to the Grand Havana Room in Beverly Hills—immersing himself in every facet of the business and smoking endlessly in pursuit of something extraordinary. That moment arrived during a trip to Cuba, where a simple, farm-rolled cigar left an unforgettable impression. Its rustic character and profound depth became the inspiration for what would eventually emerge as 96-rated Tatuaje Black.
Crafted entirely from Nicaraguan tobaccos and rolled in Nicaragua by the García family at My Father Cigars, Tatuaje Black captures that original spark in every draw. When Johnson first produced the blend, he kept the cigars strictly for himself—a personal indulgence born from passion rather than commerce. Fortunately for cigar lovers, this once-private creation is now widely available, offering a rare glimpse into the cigar that helped shape the Tatuaje legacy.
