Maduros are better
These are more like the 'conneticut' Olivas. These are OK but I would prefer the Maduros by far.

This box-Pressed cigar was created to celebrate the Oliva family patriarch Melanio Oliva, who grew tobacco in the Pinar Del Rio region of Cuba back in the 1800's. The Oliva Serie V Melanio Gran Reserva Limitada is made entirely of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos grown by the Oliva's. The cigars are then cloaked in Sumatra-seed wrapper grown by the Oliva's in Ecuador. The Oliva Melanio marks the first time Oliva has used this coveted wrapper tobacco on one of their cigars, and the results couldn't be more impressive. The binder and fillers are made with a well-aged Nicaraguan blend that emphasizes tobacco from the Jalapa Valley region in Nicaraguan. Great smoke
This cigar never lets you down. Draw and burn are both perfect, great medium flavor to it. I've given this to friends who don't normally smoke cigars and they've loved it. Smoke past the band every time.

woody earth
The stick feels great in the hand. Into the initial draws and well into the first third this cigar is producing ample smoke and has notes of woody earth.

Wonderful smoke
This cigar is smooth and delicious inside and out. It feels so good in your hand you almost hate to smoke it. That would be a mistake. Smoke it. Then get more.

great cigar
Oliva takes care of placing a Boveda humidor bag under the inner base of the box so that this cigar after leaving the large humidor, remains properly hydrated. The taste is earthy, grassy, and earthy.

This is a truly outstanding cigar. I purchased a box recently and am still enjoying them. These cigars are among the best. I love the Oliva Connecticut Reserves and they are another great cigar. The "aroma" from both of these cigars is truly the very best. This cigar comes in a box of (10) with a raised platform that the cigars sit on and underneath it is a space where a Bovida pack resides. I wondered why the cigars were already soft and ready to lite up, then I discovered the (basement) if you will where I found that Bovida moisture pack hidden under there. The moisture pack however was as hard as a rock, which told me instantly that this box had been in storage for a long, long time. But... the cigars seem to only have aged well because they are truly very enjoyable and are right up there at the very top in the taste, quality, and aroma department. Just a fine, fine smoke indeed. They tend to burn just a tad bit uneven but not too bad at all. This tobacco blend is truly the finest ever. Thanks to Atlantic Cigar for offering this at a great price as well.
