MCW Liga 1
I had this cigar indoors with slightly less than perfect ventilation and so it finished somewhat strong. However, there were incredible flavors at various times and I would definitely buy this cigar again!
This brand was created by founder, Cuban Master Blender Jose Moreno in 2012. Don Jose Moreno learned the fine art of blending and making cigars in the heyday of the Cuban Cigar market back in the 1950’s. Don Jose Moreno lived and worked in Havana for the Cifuente y Cia factory that produced famed Cuban brands like Partagas and Ramon Allones. While living in the Dominican Republic it was his dream to create a brand that would remind him of his youth in Cuba, the taste of yesteryear. It came true with the creation of the My Cuban Wheel brand. Previously the brand was offered only for direct sales to consumers, those who were lucky to find these exquisite smokes. After meeting Don Jose Moreno, I instantly became friendly with him, learning a lot from his vast experience of tobacco and cigars. Saddened by the passing of Don Jose Moreno, he always wanted someone to continue his legacy, tasting his fine creations over the years. It was both a pleasure and honor being able to offer his fine cigars to my customers. The brand had a strong cult following, which we learned quickly with numerous calls asking when we will be selling this brand once the news was released from his family.
In his words: “It is my great desire if you would relax and take the time to enjoy these great cigars, as they truly culminate a lifetime creation. Each time I light one up, I fondly reminisce my early years in Havana and with each puff you will experience the magical combination of tastes and flavors which connects my knowledge and experience into distinctive Cubanesque blends. My Cuban Wheel “Cigars with taste of yesteryear.” The My Cuban Wheel cigars are available in two blends, in both 50 and 25 count cabinet boxes.

It is a good cigar right now, but I feel like it will get better with some time. What I really like about it is how strength and intensity of flavors increase as the cigar burns. It is not front loaded with a blast of strength. It does seem to get a little muddy toward the band but this is were time I think will help out. Burn can be a little wonky. So lower humidity may help in storage, or barring that, dry boxing. All in all a really good value for the money. Try some and see for yourself.
