Murcielago Churchill Cigars by Erik Espinosa
Murcielago cigars by Espinosa Cigar Co. first debuted in 2009, becoming one of the first full-bodied Nicaraguan style cigars featuring a dark rich Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The cigars were originally crafted at the famed My Father Cigars factory but were revamped in 2015 and moved to Espinosa's burgeoning La Zona factory in Estelí. In 2017, Murcielago entered its third iteration, showcasing a vibrant new look and extra-aged tobaccos. Taking advantage of a new partnership between Espinosa and AJ Fernandez, Murcielago cigars are now rolled at AJ's famed San Lotano factory in Ocotál, Nicaragua. The blend remains the same, a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper around a core of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Murcielago now incorporates tobaccos of greater age, delivering a deeper, richer, and complex flavor profile of chocolate, espresso, sweet raisin, black pepper, maple syrup, and oak.
