Back in the days before the "cigar boom" of the 1990's, Don Tomas cigars were made in Danli, Honduras with tobaccos acquired from nearby Honduran and Nicaraguan tobacco farms. These originals had all the well-known characteristics of a hand-rolled Honduran cigar: consistently rich in flavors with a smoothness that made them a pleasure to smoke.
During the boom, however, these tobaccos became scarce and, because of the shortage, also became more expensive. It wasn't until more recently that Don Tomas produces could turn back to these quality tobaccos.
Today under the guidance of Villazon's renowned cigar master, Estelo Padron, the Don Tomas Clasico returns to its classic Honduran roots with new blends that once-again use the rich, full-flavored Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos that made the original Don Tomas one of the best Honduran cigars in the world.
