Charter Oak Pegnataro is produced at the AJ Fernandez factory and is an homage to Melillo’s grandfather. Named after the man, Pegnataro is comprised of an all-Nicaraguan blend that is finished with a Connecticut Shade wrapper. Mild to medium in body, expect creamy notes of earth, leather, and spice with a smooth, balanced finish. A perfect morning cigar, pair this one with a nice cup of coffee.

Fairly quick smoke with surprisingly spicy profile

The reason I like the Pegnataro is because it's a sleeper. You see a Connecticut wrapper and think, "Oh that's just going to be smooth and creamy and mild." but it's more bold da spicy than you would have guessed. It's only a 45 min smoke. A little lighter than a Nicaraguan Puro Maduro, for sure. But it still packs a kick. Nice if you've already had several spicy bold cigars and just want to take it down 1 notch.
