Prior to starting his own cigar company, Alfonso was a graphic designer in Cuba who is recognized for developing the Cuban Behike brand. Bandolero cigars are beautifully hand crafted in Costa Rica. The cigars are highly regarded for their excellent construction, consistency, and flavor. During the 18th and 19th century, the Spanish crown did not allow the production of cigars in any country other than Spain. This gave the monarchy a monopoly, and it allowed them to charge exorbitant prices for the cigars. Bootleggers aka Bandoleros would buy the tobaccos and have them produced in other countries and sell them at much lower prices. The Bandolero cigar is named after these legendary bootleggers.
