The Fuente Fuente OpusX The Lost City Cigars are made in ultra small batches, only 500 boxes are made per year. The tobacco used for this line is grown at the world renowned “Chateau de la Fuente,’ in the Dominican Republic. What makes these cigars unique is the use of a Dominican sun-grown wrapper grown in only one vintage harvest year. Prior to 1990, the Dominican Republic was well known for its filler and binder tobacco but growing wrapper tobacco on the island proved impossible due to the topography of the land and the wind. Determined Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. set out on a mission to be the first cigar maker in the Dominican Republic to successfully grow wrapper tobacco. The use of cheesecloth to protect the tobacco produced the first successful crop in 1992. Lost City is a full-bodied spicy smoke with hints of earth from start to finish. The Fuente’s are masters at the art of blending, each Lost City is perfectly blended and balanced, as each burns and tastes the same from cigar to cigar. The Fuente Fuente OpusX Lost City is one of the rarest blends ever released to date.
