I tried one ROTT, and I was quite dissatisfied. It tasted like dead grass. Now after about six weeks in the humidor, the stick apparently went through some drastic changes. This blend makes me feel like smoking a piece of peppered beef jerky. It is very meaty with seasoned spices over earthy and wooden undertones. About halfway down the stick, the pepper fades as the wooden tones take center stage. The meatiness lingers throughout, providing an interesting enhancement of smooth enriched flavors. The stick is beautifully constructed with an even burn line and perfect draw. While certainly not the greatest of AJ's creations, the Trinidad Espiritu is still noteworthy and will be a memorable experience. I'd rate it at 89. But don't take my words too seriously. I'm still just a cigar noob. Try it for yourself.
Altadis and AJ Fernandez have teamed up once again for the rebirth of the non-Cuban Trinidad. This collaboration between Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez is one not to be passed on. Wrapped in a toothy Nicaraguan Habano tobacco, there is virtually no seam in this cigar. Great flavors of pepper, baking spice, and cocoa are present in this blend.
