Crowned Heads Las Calaveras EL 2021 Cigars
Beginning with the Edicion Limitada 2014, Las Calaveras will be an annual release that is a respectful homage to those who have passed away in the year before and is intended to be a celebration of their lives and remembrances, rather than a mourning or a symbol of sadness and death. With each year’s annual limited release, the blend and presentation of Las Calaveras will be altered. What will remain the same, however, is the spirit behind the cigar.
The Las Calaveras EL 2021 marks the first time that the blend will feature an Ecuadorian Sumatra (Oscuro) wrapper; in fact, this will be the first time that a Crowned Heads cigar manufactured by My Father Cigars will feature a Sumatra wrapper. The result is a taste profile that is extremely unique and groundbreaking to the Las Calaveras series. The dark-chocolate Sumatra oscuro wrapper completes a blend of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, and provides a flavor profile that is characterized by notes of earth, spice, and espresso beans, with subtle floral undertones. A total of 1,250 boxes of each of the three vitolas (90,000 cigars) of Las Calaveras EL 2021 were produced at My Father Cigars, S.A. factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. An additional 1,750 samplers were produced featuring one of each of the three vitolas, along with a sampler-exclusive petite lancero (measuring 6 1/2” x 40).
